The "Queimada" in Castrelo de Cima
Date:09/09/2012 - 09/09/2012
A folkloric festival which takes place on September 9th in the parish of Castrelo de Cima. The queimada (hot drink, traditional of Galicia, which is prepared by burning the grape's liquor with lemon and sugar) is the main atraction of the night, but a free tasting of bica (traditional Galician dessert) is also offered. The festival takes place in an environment surrounded by chestnut trees, where the light of burning aguardiente (liquor distilled from grapes, typical of Galicia) and the spell recited give a magical touch to this ceremony.
